Big Ferry Fortnight 2020 coverage highlights

The client
For the second year in a row, Westgate ran a press campaign to launch industry body, Discover Ferries’ Big Ferry Fortnight ballot. 

Our task was to generate as much national, regional and online media coverage as possible during the two-week campaign period to drive entry and promote the benefits of ferry travel. 

Our approach
To secure press interest and raise awareness of the many diverse experiences ferry travel offers, our campaign focused on the 10 most beautiful locations accessed from UK ports.

This year, we secured 156 pieces of press coverage, reaching a circulation of more than 40 million.

  • A double page spread in The Sun’s weekend travel section
  • The Mirror 
  • The Scotsman
  • An interview with BBC Radio Guernsey
