Pret A Manger
Late last year we launched two of Pret A Manger's regional shops, including
one in the brand new St David's Centre in Cardiff. The Pret shop opening in
the centre was the first ever in Wales so the challenge to create a buzz about
a brand many hadn't previously experienced was one we relished. The team
here worked really hard to identify opportunities to engage with new customers
and we can honestly say it was a roaring success. On the opening day the
shop was featured on BBC Wales and Pret's very own sandwich maker,
Rachel Trusler, was interviewed by Chris Berry on ITV Wales. Numerous
briefings with the local media took place on-site throughout the morning,
resulting in extensive coverage in Wales Online, South Wales Echo,
Cardiff Life, Cardiff Advertiser, Quench magazine, Red Dragon FM, A1
and Buzz magazine.
So what impact did all of this have? Well, during the
shop's first week, turnover was 65% over the figure budgeted.
